just spent three days and two nights at the stamford , what an excellent location, steps away from the mrt rail system and all the shopping a healthy human could need. Singapore is all about shopping and this hotel gives you the rail access needed to explore all the shopping malls and food experiences you could require. I found the staff all very polite and kind , sent me in the right direction when i wanted of all things "movie" posters for a teenagers wall ,Rooms were clean, large , with an excellent view from the balcony over the marina . Would recommend this hotel and i will be staying there again no questions about it . Close

Just had two stays at the Swissotel The Stamford and both were fantastic , the first was for 1 night then back 6 days later for 2 nights. Check in was fast and efficient, rooms spacious and well appointed , good use of space , very comfortable beds , everything worked , everything was professional and staff were excellent. Had breakfast in Cafe Swiss which is a great way to start the day , very busy but it has lots of choices and selections. The location is just fantastic ... 2 minutes walk into the Raffles City Shopping Complex, lots of restaurants nearby and it only took 20 minutes to and from the airport, plus a $6.00 taxi ride will get you to Orchard Road. Singapore was just great .. shopping is excellent and the exchange rate worked for us ... The Singaporeans are a very proud group of people and showed us the best side of the country , the city is so clean and well organised , its a pleasure to spend time here. in the best location with the best facilities you can't go past the Swissotel The Stamford. I had one night in Singapore and had checked my luggage straight through to my final destination. This was the ideal hotel in the centre of the city and only a $2 metro ride away from the airport.- easy with just a carry on bag. City Hall station is just outside the hotel. My room was on the 56th floor with fabulous views of the harbour. The hotel was very busy because of the Youth Olympics but staff seemed friendly and welcoming. I was quite self contained during my short stay so didnt really have much interaction with staff other than reception on a arrival and departureand efficient. If I had to make one negative comment it was the fact that their was no evening turn down service. Close

My extended family and I have stayed in this hotel for a few nights in July as part of a stop-over. Whilst the location was very advantageous (right next to the Raffles Hotel and Shopping Mall), the whole atmosphere in the hotel was terribly busy, just like you would get in an overly busy train station and / or airport, masses of people buzzing around, it was so noisy in the reception and hall, we went outside to get some quiet! The rooms are in desperate need of renovation, old and outdated furniture, views are great if you are facing the CBD, but otherwise the rooms make you feel like you're in a time warp back into the 80's or earlier. The bathrooms were substandard, low ceilings, noisy and running toilets, bathtub and shower combined with the added extra of risking death by slipping in the tub every time you take a shower. Pick-up service at the airport was only met half-way, as we organised two separate limo pick-ups at the airport, my mother of 67 years arrived at 7:30am with no one greeting her at the gate and escorting her to the CIP lounge, part of the JetQuay service I booked and confirmed several times and long before she arrived. She had to go all the way through the terminal by herself until she finally found the driver, adding unwelcome stress to her journey. We didn't receive much sympathy for this hick-up from the hotel. As hotel guests we also did not manage to get a preferred booking at one of the restaurants on the top floors, as they were booked out most of the time. All in all a hotel I would not recommend and am very unlikely to return to again. Close
