First things first, the room was quite dated. There were some peelings on the headboard as well. However that's forgivable. Room was very clean and spacious. Location is definitely one of the main selling points, The subway stations are on the lower floors, restaurants & malls are all close by. Staff are very friendly and helpful and went the extra mile to make our stay comfortable. All in all, it's a good hotel to stay in. Will definitely stay here again the next time I make a visit to Osaka! Close

My wife and I rounded off our Japanese holiday with a 3 day stay at the Swissotel Nankai, having booked online. The hotel is located within walking distance of Osaka's famous shopping, restaurant and entertainment district, Dohtonbori. It is also literally 2 minutes walk away from Nanba Parks, one of the most famous shopping malls. It is surrounded by great places to eat, cinemas, and is right on top of the railway station and the underground tube system! The staff speak excellent English right down to the doormen and bellboys! The front office staff and the Guest relations manager were exceedingly warm and helpful and made us feel so comfortable. The staff were also very knowledgeable. We had a fantastic view from our room on the 22nd floor and our double bed was absolutely gigantic and could have slept 4 adults comfortably. The only reason I don't give this hotel 5 stars was that on our return on the 3rd day we had the distinct smell of cigarettes in the room and that was very disconcerting (the floor was a non-smoking floor). The Manager attended to us personally and was very polite and genuine though he could not discern the smell (??). The small internet kiosk in the lobby was also quite expensive. All in all it was a fabulous stay and I look forward to staying there again. Close

We stayed here for 2 nights and loved every minute of it. The location is fabulous walking distance to everything and service was excellent. Also having the convenience of the train station right at your door stop is a bonus. The rooms are also large and very comfortable. Close
