We don't travel much but when we do we stay in 5* hotels and we don't stay in any hotel more than 2-3 days. It gives us a chance to explore other hotels as well as other locations within the city which we have travelled to. So it is fair to say that we have stayed in lots of 5* hotels to be able to rate them well. Harbour Grand Hong kong was the last hotel we stayed in before our dep to Perth. At first, driving into the hotel you think to yourself: What the hell? Pannel Beaters next to the hotel? Then you entre into the lobby. Amazing lights and all, HUGE lobby, Lonley walk all the way to the reception to check in!! not a couch in sight! Service was less than friendly, it was as tho we have emposed and we were bothering them! Less than appolegetic for the room not being ready. The staff just didn't want to help you. Good room size. Awsom bathroom design, glass wall and all. The Tap was annoying tho, it spalshed water every where constantly and you found your shirt getting wet just trying to wash your hands! We needed to break some change for the MTR (for train ride tickets the machine only accepts hk$10 and HK$20 notes. BE WARE!!!) and the lady almost rolled her eyes and frowned for such request, reluctently she broke the note, placed it on the counter and just walked off!!! Awful service and no smiles. In fact the only staff that always smiled and was so lovely and genuine all the time was an Indian Gentleman who opened and closed the doors and helped with transports and all. So any hoo, as I mentioned you get a little suprize by the sight of pannel beaters and all, but once you start walking you will realize what a great location. Loads of Places to eat and all. The hotel also offers a shuttle service which unlike their Kawloon Branch (every 30 mnts) offers rides to East HK and Central and back to the hotel every hour. PS: You can take the complimentray shuttle bus to the HK station, check in your baggages at the train station on the day of your travel, regardless of what time your flight is (depending your airline has a counter at the HK train station of course) go around do your sightseeing or whatever you need to do, come back to the station and get the express train to the Airport for around HK$120 pp with your boarding pass in your hand and just walk to your gate. Or you can take the hotels bus to the airport for around $HK170pp . Will I come back to this hotel again? No. If I had to choose, I would stay at the Kawloon Branch any day. There you have the views and the Buffet to compensate for the avarage service! Close

I wanted a hotel that overlooks the Victoria Harbour since I was traveling with a 3 month old baby and wanted an "exciting view" at night when my baby sleeps. We had a free upgrade and the view was magnificient. Service was excellent; staff were courteous and friendly. They could also speak rather good English, Mandarin (Chinese) and Cantonese. The pool was nice with a nice cityscape backdrop. It is also very near to the MTR station and many eateries including local ones and western ones like McDonald's, Starbucks and Subway. The only possible bad thing is the immediate environment outside the hotel. There are car servicing centres outside so that kind of is bad when we have to bring our baby out in the stroller. Pollution is quite a problem, but again, this is Hong Kong. Overall we are happy with the hotel and the service provided. Close

This hotel was fantastic from start to finish - I could have moved in here. We were travelling here for the last part of our china trip before going on to thailand and i'm so glad this was our last stop. From the moment we arrived in the airport The harbour grand was utterly brilliant. We used the 'luxury coach transfer' as a treat after some hair raising taxi's in other parts of china, and it was the nicest coach you'll ever travel in - i'd definitely recommend that. The location is fantastic, literally up the road from the fortress hill metro station (which can take you pretty much anywhere you need), and very close to the trams and all manner of other forms of transportation, but it is no where near as busy as Causway or admiralty. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we loved this hotel, it's not the best one i've been to, but it's very high on the list, the staff were lovely, and in the business centre they even confirmed our onward flights and did the ringing around for us. Upon arrival the fabulous reception was efficent, and stunning. We were even upgraded to a club floor as they had availability. The rooms was absolutely stunning, with spectacular views over the harbour and kowloon opposite. The room was modern, luxurious, stylish, and absolutely peaceful. the bathroom with the waterfall shower was blissful after a long day sightseeing. I'd highly recommend this hotel to anyone and hope to return one day, i felt much safer in this area of Hong Kong than i do in London on a daily basis. Fantastic hotel and a fabulous city. Close

Very close to subway / only 4 stops away from central. hotel offers free hourly shuttle bus to cental . Their breakfast / lunch and dinner is really delicious and there is so much on offer ... and the deserts ...oh the desert .,.. to die for!!! all in all it is a very nice hotel , typical of a 5 star hotel in HK... the only downside is that they charge you abnormal prices for their minibar .. ithink $7 for a coke ( aussie dollars) . the internet is not free .. they charge you abnormal rates in 15 minute blocks!!! and their local phone calls from the room are through the roof .. Note that local calls in hong kong are free ... so if u need to use a phone just ask any near by shop... yes i would stay their again ... Close
