We stayed 2 nights at Manathai at Surin Beach. The service level here was excellent. Friendly happy staff who could not do enough to assist you. The hotel itself was older but very quaint. Breakfast buffet was great. Our room was huge! Older style two storey with bedroom and bathroom upstairs and living room and balcony downstairs. Excellent facilities including two large LCD TVs. Ceiling fans as well as two air conditioners. Only one little problem was we had an attack of the mozzies and got bitten a little bit. The pool was great and the free Surin Beach lounges were great. The hawkers were very annoying and quite desperate and persistent due to off season. The beach at Surin itself was very nice but the surf on the days we were there was quite dangerous. Location was excellent. A short walk along a path to the beach. Close to restaurants. We were also offered a room to shower and get changed in after we had checked out and were waiting several hours to go to the airport. We spent it lazing around the pool with some other couples. Thank you so much! We'll stay there again.

We stayed at the Manathai Resort last week. They arranged airport pickup and drop off, (800 & 700 baht) which took the stress out of the journey. We stayed in a pool room, this had a small plunge pool outside, with complete privacy. Nice to dip in after a hot day. The breakfast bufet was everything you would need and the staff were very attentive to your needs. Each day 2-4pm there was free tae and coffee, but cafe late was extra. Happy hour 3:30-7pm, but be careful that your drink is on the list for the 2 for 1 deal. The hotel is about 150m to a lovely semi private beach area (Diamond Beach Club) which has free usage to guests. They treated you very well here too, offering free fruit, fruit shots and cold face towels. There were some beach merchants, but if you say no - they go away. All in all a very nice place to relax and enjoy.

The hotel is around 45-50 mins from Phuket International Airport, the cost of taxi should be no more than 700 THD. Greeted with a very warm welcome and a free upgrade to a deluxe suit. Was a very high standard hotel with very nice interior rooms with high class TV, mini bar, Fridge, shower rooms etc. I read the reviews before making the booking, and wasn’t too sure if I should go ahead and book with this hotel. I am glad I went ahead and didn’t pay attention to the negative feedback. I don’t understand how the hotel was 4* rated as to me It seemed like a quality 5* hotel. The breakfast selection was huge and very much spoilt for choice. Has free WiFi on the lobby area, however couldn’t access the internet from the room. There are Thai restaurant, Indian restaurant and taxi service just outside the hotel. There is also the Tuk Tuk taxi service a minute walk just before the entrance of the beach. They are extremely cheap to rent for journeys around Phuket. I found it better to hire the Tuk Tuk as I managed to snap away with my camera and had better sighting. Manathai is not a big hotel but it contain everything you would expect for, breakfast was great with choices of food restaurant and bar with a very friendly staff. the room was clean and aircondition work well. we never have any issue during our stay, is there is it would be only the patients needed when communicate with the staff as they are very limit in english but never the less they still be very helpful to us during our stay.

We are checking out of Manathai tomorrow when our six day holiday ends. Alas we paid in advance. This is definitely not a 4.5 star facility or whatever they claim to to be. It is old and dated. We booked a duplex suite. Our first suite had a filthy couch. Oily sweat stains all over it. Can't believe that these obvious stains either escaped their notice or that management find this acceptable. Our shower ..... Only works on flat out hot or a dribble of warm water. We complained four times. Each time they said it was fixed and it isn't. It starts out okay and then goes back to a choice of full strength pure hot water (no cold mixed into it) or if you adjust it to add cold then you are left with a dribble. I haven't been able to wash my hair. We had drink vouchers for a free cocktail each day and lost these. No offers of replacing them (they have our room no on them so it would be hard for someone else to use them). Language is a huge barrier. Okay their English far surpasses my Thai but I sometimes wonder if they do understand The couch downstairs is a concrete bench with cushions on it. Redeeming factors ... Bed is comfortable. Breakfast is okay. Gowns supplied. Oh another gripe! Explained I was allergic to egg when ordering pad thai and could they please leave this ingredient out. Yes, no problem they said. Out it comes with egg. I become very very ill with egg. So I asked them to make me another Staff responded sullenly and their body language said it all and made me very uncomfortable. We pay very good money to stay he to be spoilt This does not happen at Manathai
