5. Kobe Kitano Ijinkan
Besides the traditional Japanese architectures, you can also find a very western area in Kobe. The Ijinkan were residences built by foreigners when they were doing business at the Port of Kobe which opened in more than 100 years ago. Since the style of these residences are so different from Japan, the locals call them “Ijinkan”. Visiting this area is like going on a time travel!
